Well friends… it’s about that time again to hear Rossano harping on you all to lose those holiday pounds!

You’ve been to too many parties around metro detroit and have eaten enough grub to last you another week. Well…enough!!!

Particularly in the winter Michigan season, you do not want to be carrying excessive abdominal fat; and I say this for multiple reasons. Your abs are part of your “core”, which includes your lower back. So, basically, the more you eat and less you exercise, the more it will become difficult to stand erect, perform daily functions, and save yourself from slipping on some ice. What is he talking about, you ask? Very simple, your abs and lower back control how we sit, stand, move, and feel. The weaker and heavier your “visceral” or abdominal body fat is, the harder it is to activate these muscles should you fall on ice and have to recover. That recovery is all being done by your “core”…so work it and keep the belly fat off.

We can normally see anywhere from 5 to 10 holiday pounds accumulate. Desserts are passed out and how hard they are to ignore! Well, finish your eating and get back to the gym. And for those who haven’t exercised in months or even years, go slow in the beginning. Too many people rush into it and end up lasting one month because it is too strenuous and people cannot wait to drop the pounds and become impatient. Just take your time; visit a gym that is reputable and has qualified and accomplished trainers…like Bodymorph. Start by attending some boot camp classes or begin a personal training regimen with a trainer.

Either way, you have to remember this fact. Losing weight may give the impression that your abs are in shape and they may even LOOK like they are, but one has to perform an abdominal “flexion” or crunch movement to tighten those areas so that they are working for you, like your biceps do. These are muscles like any other part of the body and are so important that they are tight and the proper “vacuum” is engaged for maximum effect. This can be done be inhaling, exhaling, and bringing in your abs as though you were trying to touch your spine. Your shoulders should be pulled back and chin in while all this is happening. Please do not mistake this for sucking in your gut and puffing your chests out. Rather, a simple breath in and out, followed by pulling in your stomach, will help you to begin tightening your midsections.

So, bottom line, if you don’t use it you lose it! Come to Ferndale and stop into Bodymorph and treat yourselves to 2 months of camp for the price of 1.5. We have among the most dedicated and experienced staff around.

Happy Holidays and shed those pounds at your home in Metro Detroit for your New Years Resolution for weight loss!!!!

You’re all probably asking, “What do I eat for the next holiday week of parties, fun, dancing, eating, celebrating, eating, laughing, and MORE eating”? I’ll tell you what you’re going to do. Follow the next few steps you read and you will be sure to keep off those holiday pounds and be able to fit into that same dress as you did 2 weeks ago.

A. Alcohol consumption. Alcohol contains a lot of calories and, if you’re a drinker, try cutting what you had planned on having, in half. This is a realistic goal and, although I’d ask you to limit it to 1 drink, try first reducing your daily consumption in half. That is, at least, going to reduce much of the unwanted, extraneous calories.

B. You are what you eat. I understand that there are a lot of goodies offered at parties. Try keeping it to lean meats and veggies with olive oils rather than butter. Remember, baked potatoes aren’t bad, it’s what you put on them that adds on the weight. While it’s understood that you won’t be eating chicken breasts and asparagus, just try to keep the fried foods down or not at all, watch the dressings on certain foods, and go easy on portions. Also, keep desserts to a minimum…PLEASE.

C. Join Bodymorph family and lose the weight! We have been in business for 14 years and are dedicated to trimming your bods and helping you lose the weight! You need to tighten, sculpt, and firm and do it soon after the holiday. We are offering inexpensive, affordable classes and we are the best value in town. In other words, don’t go to other facilities where you workout for months before seeing anything…if you even do. Get the job done right the first time…we’ll see you in class!

*Note: The suggestions are based on a healthy individual with no apparent issues or contraindications. I would recommend consulting your physician if you are uncertain of allergies, etc, after reading my suggestions.
